This is a bug, or lack of recognition quality.
No faces are detected on the following picture: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblrlfxhv2mFTN1qc2r4co1500.jpg
There are 6 faces in it. And 4 of them are with a little angle.
Well, you have not tried the recognition yet. This is only face detection part.
After thorough examination of the image provided by you we found that it contains: 1 top of the head, 4 half-profile faces, and 1 full-profile face.
3 of the 4 half-profile faces are too small, our algorithms can easily detect them but we intentionally avoid this because we cannot meaningfully use them during the recognition. Additionally, detection of such small faces adds computation heaviness which we plan to compensate for our commercial plan users.
1 top of the head will not be detected by face detection algorithms.
1 full-profile face is not detected for the same reason as the small faces. We are still discussing internally how to offer this functionality.
Face recognition is not implemented in our demo yet.
Demo runs face detection in aggressive mode -- it is slightly more accurate and several times slower than the default face detection algorithm.
How can I run recognition in the demo?
Also is the demo showing the real speed of detection, or is there a sleep to avoid people from using the demo abusively?
